PRODUCER: Since 1954, Vazart-Coquart Estate has been producing elegant and rich champagnes. The terroir of Chouilly, Grand Cru of the Côte des Blancs, plays host to their 30 plots of vines. Chardonnay is the predominant grape variety on the 11 hectares of vines, supplemented by several hundred square metres where they also grow Pinot Noir.
Since 1996, Vazart Coquart have been part of the “Club Trésors de Champagne”. This association of independent winegrowers is constantly looking for excellence. In order to be selected for the Special Club release, the wine must be judged blind by a jury of oenologists and wine professionals at both the still wine stage and three years after bottling. It may also only be release in outstanding vintage years.
VINEYARD: Grand Cru vineyards in Chouilly in the Cotes des Blancs with an average vine age of 45 years. Certified organic since 2020.
WINEMAKING: 100% Chardonnay from the 2014 vintage, vinified in temperature controlled vats and completing it's malolactic fermentation, the Special Club ages for seven years on cork rather than the usual crown cap which gives it a superior complexity.
TASTING NOTE FROM THE WINERY: The palate is lively, undeniably unctuous and confirms what was expected on the nose. There are warm, crunchy wild fruits finished with hints of almond and fresh green lemon. It is a full, gourmet wine intended for great moments and top-class food.
