What it tastes like

A bold, structured Super Tuscan with layers of blackberry, black plum, and cassis, underscored by notes of spice, tar, and campfire ash. Hints of dried chili, walnut, and tobacco add complexity, while polished tannins and a long, savory finish showcase its elegance.

Perfect alongside grilled steaks, lamb, hearty pasta dishes, or aged cheeses. Its depth and structure also make it an excellent companion to game meats and robust stews.

The grape

Cabernet Sauvignon

Best known in Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Coonawarra

The backbone of Bordeaux and the world's most famous red grape. Blackcurrant, cedar and firm tannins, with real ageing potential. Riper climates give plusher fruit; cooler ones more structure and leafy freshness.

Where it's from

Tuscany

Italy

Italy's most celebrated wine region. Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano — all Sangiovese, all distinct. The Super Tuscans broke the rules in the 1970s and created an entirely new style. Hills, cypress trees, and wine that belongs on the table.

The story behind it

Giusto di Notri was Tua Rita's inaugural wine, first produced in 1992, and played a pivotal role in establishing the estate's reputation. Crafted from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Merlot, it's aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, followed by several months in bottle before release. The 2019 vintage benefited from the estate's clay-rich soils and meticulous vineyard management, resulting in a wine of remarkable balance and complexity.

If you like these, you'll love this: Sassicaia, Ornellaia, or Château Léoville Barton.
