Schroeder Saurus Patagonia Select Pinot Noir
PRODUCER: Bodega Familia Schroeder is the result of a pioneer family’s effort that made their dream come true. Located in Patagonia, the estate is a land of extremes. Dry weather, rivers carrying snowmelt water, cool nights and long summer days characterise the climate here. A state of the art gravity flow winery completes the set up, during the building of which the fossilised bones of a previously undiscovered dinosaur were discovered, inspiring the name of the Saurus range.
WINEMAKING: Manually harvested whole berries are cold soaked for three days before an eight day alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel. A post fermentation maceration takes place for four days to integrate the tannins before the wine is racked to a mixture of 60% stainless steel and 40% new French oak for malolactic and maturation over nine months.
TASTING NOTES: This Pinot Noir shows ruby red color with bright flashes. Attractive ripe raspberries, strawberries and black cherries on the nose and palate with an outstanding fresh and velvety mouth feel. Lots of subtleties and elegance.
