PRODUCER: Bodega Familia Schroeder is the result of a pioneer family’s effort that made their dream come true. Located in Patagonia, the estate is a land of extremes. Dry weather, rivers carrying snowmelt water, cool nights and long summer days characterise the climate here. A state of the art gravity flow winery completes the set up in one of the worlds most exciting new wine regions.
WINEMAKING: Manually harvested whole berries are cold soaked for four days in stainless steel followed by alcoholic fermentation. The wine is then aged in new oak barrels (40% American - 60% French) that are toasted precisely to Familia Schroeder's specification for eight months.
TASTING NOTES: Plenty of floral aromas on the nose, combined with red fruit scents such as plums and sour cherries. The fermentation in oak barrels brings vanilla and cocoa notes, which make it an elegant wine. The mouthfeel is fruity, with sweet tannins and a good acidity.
