Picaro del Águila Tinto 2022 is a vibrant and expressive red with aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and plum, layered with hints of tobacco, dried herbs, and a touch of earthy minerality. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, offering ripe black fruit flavors, a hint of spice, and subtle oak influence. The finish is smooth, fresh, and long, with a lively acidity and a delicate herbal note.
Perfect with grilled lamb, roasted pork, or a juicy steak. It also pairs well with traditional Spanish dishes like jamón ibérico, tapas, or mushroom risotto. The wine's balance of fruit and acidity also makes it an excellent match for Mediterranean-inspired dishes, such as pasta with tomato sauce or a tomato and mozzarella salad.

Best known in Rioja, Ribera del Duero
Spain's great red grape. Cherry, plum, tobacco and leather, with smooth tannins, and oak ageing adds vanilla and spice. It is the heart of Rioja and Ribera del Duero, and in Portugal's Douro the same grape is called Tinta Roriz.
Spain
Spain's other great red wine heartland. Higher altitude than Rioja, hotter days and colder nights. Tempranillo (here called Tinto Fino) makes wines of real power and concentration. Vega Sicilia is the benchmark; there are now dozens of excellent producers at every price point.
