PRODUCER: Trained as a winemaker by her father Jean Huteau, Catherine Huteau-Boulanger is at the helm of Domaine du Moulin Camus in Muscadet. Producing Melon de Bourgogne, Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay and Merlot amongst others, the domain embraces biodiversity and sustainable agriculture.
WINEMAKING: This Gamay is grown on schist soils of the Nantais. The berries are harvested at optimum maturity then vinified with indigenous yeast and minimal sulphur addition. Pump-overs take place for fifteen minutes every to to extract colour an tannin. Traditionally pressed, the wine is then bottled without filtration.
TASTING NOTE: Cherry red colour, clear and bright. A rich nose with aromas of very ripe red fruits and hints of white pepper spice on the palate.
