Chenin Blanc

Best known in Loire Valley, South Africa

A brilliant shape-shifter. Bone-dry, off-dry, sweet or sparkling, always with vivid acidity running through it. Apple, quince, honey and a waxy texture, with the best examples from the Loire and South Africa ageing gracefully for many years.

The story behind it

Domaine Mosse has been a benchmark for natural winemaking in the Loire since the late '90s. Located in Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay in Anjou. Domaine Mosse is a family-run estate managed by Agnès and René Mosse, along with their sons Sylvestre and Joseph. They farm 17 hectares of certified organic vineyards, focusing on Chenin Blanc and other varieties. The estate is known for its natural winemaking approach, including the use of native yeasts and minimal sulfur.

If you like these, you'll love this: Fans of Loire Chenin from producers like François Chidaine or Domaine Huet will find a lot to love here. It also appeals to those who enjoy Jura whites, minimal-intervention wines, or even Burgundy whites with a leaner, more mineral-driven style.
