Lago Vinho Verde
PRODUCER: Calcada uses certified sustainable practices in the vineyards by SATIVA. The Amarante region where they have their vineyards is located at 450m above sea level with mountainous viticulture and high density planting. The soils are composed essentially of granite with some mixtures of schist bringing a special minerality to the wines.
WINEMAKING: The selected grapes are de-stemmed and slightly pressed. The extracted juice is decanted by gravity. It is then fermented in stainless steel vats with temperature control during approximately 15 days. The wine is filtered and stabilised prior to bottling.
TASTING NOTE: White flower’s notes on the nose. Very crisp and refreshing on the palate, it offers white fruit notes such as pear, peach, apricot and tropical fruits. This is great as an aperitif but also very versatile and goes well with light dishes such as Thai stir fry, chicken Caesar salad or a superfood salad.
