PRODUCER: Bodega Familia Schroeder is the result of a pioneer family’s effort that made their dream come true. Located in Patagonia, the estate is a land of extremes. Dry weather, rivers carrying snowmelt water, cool nights and long summer days characterise the climate here. A state of the art gravity flow winery completes the set up, during the building of which the fossilised bones of a previously undiscovered dinosaur were discovered, inspiring the name of the Saurus range.
WINEMAKING: The grapes are left to raisin on the vine, concentrating the sugars and flavours before being manually harvested. The grapes go through a traditional red wine fermentation at a low temperature for seven days on the skins and seven days after racking. The wine is then aged in stainless steel for six months before bottling.
TASTING NOTE: The wine shows a red-purple hues in the glass whilst displaying aromas of violets and red fruits. The palate is sweet and soft with opulent dark chocolate notes and a velvety mouthfeel. It is well structured with very fine a sweet tannins and a balanced acidity.
