Chardonnay
Best known in Burgundy, Champagne, California
The world's most versatile white grape. Crisp, mineral and citrusy in cool places like Chablis; rich, creamy and toasty when oak-aged in warmer spots. It is also a key grape in Champagne.
Why you'll love it
It's a superb cool-climate Chardonnay—balanced, expressive and elegant.
Bright citrus blossoms, green apple and pear lead, followed by juicy Cara-Cara orange and candied almonds. Fresh acidity throughout, with a crisp mineral lift and subtle vanilla/oak in the finish.
Great with grilled fish, shellfish, roasted chicken, or creamy sauces. Also delicious by itself, especially chilled on warm days.

USA
Napa's larger, more varied neighbour, stretching to the Pacific coast. Cool, fog-influenced areas such as the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast make fine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, while warmer valleys suit Zinfandel and Cabernet. Relaxed, diverse and full of family-run wineries.

Sonoma, USA
Ernest Vineyards was founded in 2012 by husband and wife Todd Gottula and Erin Brooks, inspired by a tasting of wines from what is now the West Sonoma Coast AVA. Love Wine stocks two cool-climate Chardonnays, including the organic Joyce Vineyard.
