In Castilla y León, south-west of Valladolid, and Spain's best-known home of Verdejo. High altitude and big temperature swings give crisp, aromatic whites with citrus, herbal notes and a hint of bitter almond. Sauvignon Blanc does well too. Fresh, reliable whites that are hard to beat for value.
Rueda, Spain
