Domaine Vessigaud Macon-Fuisse Le Haut de Fuisse
PRODUCER: The estate has existed for 5 generations (beginning in 1839). The Domain is located in the hamlet of Pouilly in the heart of the appellation Pouilly-Fuisse. Pierre took over after his father in 1988. Since 1998, without claiming the organic label, he has been working the most natural way possible his vines.
WINEMAKING: Directly pressed after harvest, whole bunch of grapes, wild yeast. The fermentation happens in barrels, then aged for 12 months in 45 hl barrels.
TASTING NOTE: The nose is a blend of rich citrus fruits, but with underlying raisin, honey and lovely butterscotch. The palate is equally satisfying, with the powerful citrus fruits balanced well with richer touches of honey, tropical fruits and slight minerality. The acidity is balanced giving a long, refreshing finish.
