Philippe Raimbault comes from a family of winemakers going back many generations and today he has the good fortune to own vineyards on both sides of the Loire River in the Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé and Coteaux du Giennois appellations.
WINEMAKING: The Pouilly-Fumé or Blanc-Fumé de Pouilly is exclusively a production of white wine of Protected designation of origin produced from the single-varietal of Sauvignon Blanc. His area of appelation extends of Mesves-sur-Loire including Pouilly-sur-Loire to Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain over distributed 1 320ha understands 7 municipalities. The white wine Pouilly-sur-Loire is produced on the same area but with this difference that it is of another grape variety is the Chasselas grape. Careful also not to confuse Pouilly-Fumé with the Pouilly-Fuissé wine of the South of the Bourgogne (Coast Mâconnaises) and which is producted with Chardonnay.
TASTING NOTES: Brilliant light yellow. Inviting nose blending citrus and white fruits with floral undertones. Fruit-forward attack, very fruity, lively palate showing some concentration. Focused, precise aromas. Soft spice on the finish. Clean and balanced. A good Pouilly.
