The grape

Falanghina

Best known in Campania

An ancient white grape from Campania, grown around Naples and Benevento. Citrus, orange blossom and a fresh, slightly bitter finish. Bright, dry and food-friendly, it is a fine match for southern Italian seafood, pizza and simple pasta dishes.

Where it's from

Sicily

Italy

Italy's sleeping giant is wide awake. Nerello Mascalese from Etna's volcanic slopes produces wines of haunting elegance that have woken the wine world up. Nero d'Avola, Grillo and Catarratto add depth to a region that now makes some of Italy's most exciting bottles.
