Decanter Award Winning Wines 2018

Each year the wine industry looks forward to its very own Oscar ceremony, the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA). The resulting prize winners are selected over a four-month period of intensive tasting by a panel of regional and international wine experts.

We are thrilled to announce the wines from the Love Wine portfolio which were amongst the platinum, gold, silver, bronze & commended award winners of the Decanter World Wine Awards 2018. Judged by top wine experts from around the globe, the world’s largest wine competition is trusted internationally for its rigorous judging process.

Wines are judged in flights of 12, grouped together by region, colour, grape, style, vintage and price bracket, giving all wines an equal chance to shine. Judges then taste the wines individually and compare notes to reach a final consensus.

Wines were scored as follows:
 

• Bronze accolades are wines based on a scorecard of 86 - 89 points
• Silver accolades are wines based on a scorecard of 90 - 94 points
• Gold accolades are wines based on a scorecard of 95 - 100 points
• Platinum accolades are wines based on a scorecard of 95 - 100 points with the added scrutiny of being under £15 to represent extreme value.
• Best in show accolades are wines based on a scorecard of 95 - 100 points which saw the platinum award-winning wines pitched against themselves which accounted for 0.3% of the 16,972 wines entered into the awards. These wines also have the added value of all been under £15
