The 6pm Pour is a fresh little series where we team up with some of our favourite trade partners to open a few special bottles in a relaxed, no-hard-sell kind of way. Think informal tastings, interesting wines, good company — all poured from 6pm at the bar, or your table. If you are booked in for dinner then great, we can come to your table. If you are just popping in for a drink then taste what we’re pouring, and see where it takes you. Hopefully it will inspire you to try something a little different!
All wines will be available on the evening by the glass or bottle. This is a try before you buy exercise, the fun type!
Next Up: The Salty Dog — 16th October, 6–8pm
The Salty Dog, one of Jersey's longest standing and best known restaurants, a household name. This time around, Will and Plamena from the Love Wine Team will be accompanied by Mags Janjo, winemaker and owner of Mama Wines. They will be pouring a number of wines between 6pm and 8pm; from one of the best Pet-Nat's you'll try, to a skin contact Gruner Veltliner and a very easy drinking but super smashable Zwiegelt.
The idea? Whether you are grabbing food or just a drink at in the bar area, we will be there to introduce you to these small production, low intervention wines that pack a punch... and with the winemaker to hand the geeks amongst us will be able to chew his ear off - we all need to know the PSI levels on the Pet Nat!!
You’ll be able to taste, chat, and if something hits the spot, order a glass or bottle to enjoy with your meal.
There is no catch! Just book yourself a table as normal or turn up at the bar and we will be there to pour from 6pm. We all love a free tasting... open to all!
