PRODUCER: The brothers Aristides and Stathis Spanos, having grown in this area, found it absolutely natural to be involved in grape growing and wine production early in their lives.
They Aborted organic farming and despite their other activities, the love for the vineyards and wine led them to more dynamic activity.
In 1999 they meet Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos, an oenologist, who also comes from the area, and they produce the first bottles of tetramythos. In the years that follow new vineyards are planted and in 2003 starts the construction of a tasteful winery which is completed in 2004.
WINEMAKING: Grapes are handpicked and undergo skin contact maceration for 18 hours at 4ºC, followed by spontaneous fermentation in new oak barrels. Only free-run juice is used, which matures in barrel for 4 months with occasional lees stirring. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined with minimal sulphur use
TASTING NOTES: Exotic and very aromatic, with lychees, pineapple, and a leafy edge. Hints of vanilla and yoghurt highlight time in oak. The palate is textural and layered, with crisp acidity and rich fruit characters. A serious, complex wine rounded out by a long fruit-driven finish.
