PRODUCER: Having inherited the values of generosity and audacity, Nicolas Feuillatte celebrates the good times with emotion and intensity, creating precious moments for everyone. With its roots firmly planted in this enchanted land, fruit of the growers’ work and sculpted by the chief winemaker, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte epitomises the savoir-faire and inimitable house’s style defined by precision, elegance and finesse. Guillaume Roffiaen, chief winemaker, has an exceptional variety of crus at his disposal, offering infinite blending possibilities.
WINEMAKING: A blend of pinot noir and chardonnay in equal measure, the 2006 Palmes d’Or Brut is fleshy and complex. The blend champions a selection of grand cru sites from Montagne de Reims, including Verzy, Verzenay, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Aÿ, and from the Côte des Blancs, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-surOger. The latter reveal a tempestuous edge which has mellowed in unison over time, bound in perfect harmony with the addition of the tropical chardonnays from Montgueux which constitute 7% of the blend.
TASTING NOTES: This full-bodied Champagne is only produced in the very best years and with grapes from selected Grand Cru vineyards. Aged for a minimum of nine years, it is complex with a palate of nuts, almonds, white and yellow fruits and even vegetal notes. Great structure on the palate, incredibly long on the finish showing elegance.
