Lucien Muzard Puligny Montrachet 2019

Lucien Muzard handed over the reins to his sons Claude and Hervé, who immediately began Domaine bottling their wine rather than selling it in bulk to négociants.
In 2005 Muzard went organic in their vineyards and gained certification for biodynamic farming with the 2008 vintage. Their decision to work biodynamically was taken to sustain and improve the health of their land. It has also had a noticeable effect on the wines as the quality and complexity has evolved beautifully over the years.
WINEMAKING: On arrival at the winery, the grapes are inspected and selected at the sorting table. The winemaking is traditional without any use of cultivated yeasts. The grapes are very gently pressed and the must is racked off. After fermentation, the wine is matured in oak barrels for 10 months with 2/3 of new oak.
TASTING NOTES: "Intense aromas around the white fruit, acacia flowers and a hint of mint. That palate is well balanced, fullbodied, with a roundness and delicate sharpness in the end notes which bring some freshness.”
