PRODUCER: Domaine Leflaive has been developing for many years long-term partnerships with some vinegrowers that share their passion for the requirement of meticulous work in the vineyard without contribution other than natural supplements. These wines are issued from the Côte de Beaune and notably Auxey-Duresses and Puligny-Montrachet and the Côte Chalonnaise (Rully 1er cru). They are vinified by the Domaine Leflaive's team, in separate cellars in Puligny-Montrachet. In order to distinguish them from the historical part of the domaine, they are given their own identity under the name "Leflaive & Associés".
WINEMAKING: The grapes hail from a longtime family friend with property in Auxey-Duresses, and are planted upon calcareous clay. This wine is made with the same winemaking methods that have brought Domaine Leflaive the respect and reputation they have been cherished for, years after years.
Leflaive & Associes has partnered with a number of vignerons farming exclusivly in biodynamics to vinify in their cellars and with the same care as these wonderful appellations.
TASTING NOTES: The palate has a pleasing line of rocky minerality, with a zesty, almost sherbeted pliancy. Apple and pear fruit, taut and crunchy. Very sensitively made, the ripeness of the vintage making itself felt in a gratifying weight on the back-palate.
