PRODUCER: Domaine Jean Marechal has been a family affair since 1570, located in the Mercurey appellation. This family believes in the tradition of producing authentic and refined wines through the terroir with a perfect balance between tradition and moderism.
WINEMAKING: These 30-40 year old vines all express the aromatic complexity that would be expected of old vines, A short but airy Guillot size (head trained vines) make it possible to limit the number of grapes in order to increase the maturity of the yields. This cuvee gathers grapes from three parcels (Les Chazeaux, Vasees 1er Cru, Monopole and Meix Sadot Monopole).
TASTING NOTE: Combination of these three parcels gives a fleshy, fruit wine, with all the freshness of Pinot Noit. Clear ruby dress with a superb nose of red fruits, spices and liquorice. The mouth is still young with well built tannin and elegance.
