PRODUCER: De Toren's vineyards comprise of a mere 22 hectares, uniquely positioned on the Polkadraai Hills, overlooking Stellenbosch. The elevation of the vineyards (100-200 metres) overlooking False Bay to the South, and Table Mountain to the West, allow the cooling effects of the South Eastern wind to form a micro-climate perfectly tailored for the production of world class red wine.
WINE MAKING: Aged in a climatised barrel room (16 degrees Celsius at 80% humidity) for 12 months in 225L French and American Oak. The Malbec had the benefit of American Oak.
TASTING NOTE: This soft ruby-hued beauty is a true testament to the Right Bank-style Bordeaux blend. You’ll find it tantalisingly soft on the tongue, with a hint of aniseed, liquorice, raspberry and cranberries lending a fresh acidity to its polished finish. Plus all the finesse that makes Bordeaux-style wines so prized.
