WINEMAKING: Monbazillac, on the left bank of the Dordogne River just across from the town of Bergerac, has a long history of sweet wine production. Made from grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis), which is the beneficial form of a grey fungus, Botrytis cinerea, affecting wine grapes. Infestation by Botrytis requires moist conditions. Wines produced by this method are known as botrytized wines.
TASTING NOTES: Under the signature Celliers Queen Margot, the Monbazillac offers a sweet wine with a beautiful golden color while roundness and finesse.The nose reveals sweet flavors and supported honey, vanilla and acacia.The palate impresses with its roundness and smoothness with a touch of acidity that brings freshness.
