Alpataco Malbec Selection
PRODUCER: Bodega Familia Schroeder is the result of a pioneer family’s effort that made their dream come true. Located in Patagonia, the estate is a land of extremes. Dry weather, rivers carrying snowmelt water, cool nights and long summer days characterise the climate here. A state of the art gravity flow winery completes the set up in one of the worlds most exciting new wine regions.
WINEMAKING: Manually harvested grapes undergo a two day cold soak, then alcoholic fermentation over 12 days. A period of post-fermentation maceration takes place for three days to fully integrate the tannins. Malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously in stainless steel where the wine is aged on the lees before bottling.TASTING NOTES: The wine is an intense deep red colour, showing distinctive ripe red fruit aromas of plums and cherries with delicate violet nuances and hints of dried fruit. Smooth and full in the mouth, the wine is remarkably fresh and appealing.
