Alpataco Chardonnay Selection
PRODUCER: Bodega Familia Schroeder is the result of a pioneer family’s effort that made their dream come true. Located in Patagonia, the estate is a land of extremes. Dry weather, rivers carrying snowmelt water, cool nights and long summer days characterise the climate here. A state of the art gravity flow winery completes the set up in one of the worlds most exciting new wine regions.
WINEMAKING: Manually harvested grapes undergo six hours of maceration during a six hour press. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel at low temperatures, with 40% undergoing malolactic fermentation. The wine then spends 15 day on it's lees before stabilisation and blending.
TASTING NOTES: Pale greenish yellow to the eye this lively Chardonnay has seen no oak ageing to preserve the flavour of the fruit. A prolonged contact with the lees with periodic stirring added roundness and to its very fresh, fruity mouth-feel. Apple and lemon nuances combined with hints of pineapple and honey.
