Wine Dinner - Greenhill's Country House Hotel - Natural vs Conventional - 11th October

It's that time of the year, wine dinner time.  Following the success of our Yalumba dinner last year at Greenhill's Country House Hotel we have decided to team up again.

We would like to invite you to join us for an evening of food and wine on the evening of 11th October 2018.  

The theme this time around is Conventional vs Natural... compare and contrast some brilliantly crafted wines, both wild and controlled. Produced by winemakers with flair, passion and creativity from France and South Africa, we will be pairing two wines with each course.  Showcasing the nuances, dispelling the myths and hopefully allowing you to leave with a new opinion of natural wine...  

The menu has been created with the seasons in mind and the wines selected to spark an interest in a style of wine sometimes misunderstood.

Remember, natural wine isn't just for hipsters!!

The dinner will be £60/head and look a little like this:

To Begin

Confit salmon, leek & Jersey potato terrine, garden nettles, oyster emulsion

Traditional: Pouilly Fume 'Florilege' JD Pabiot 2016

Natural: Force Majeure Semillon 2017, Mother Rock, Swartland South Africa

To Follow

Sous vide pheasant breast, leg meat faggot, savoy cabbage parsnip purée, pickled blackberry jus.

Traditional: Domaine des Moirots Givry 1er Cru 2016, Cote Challonaise, France

Natural: Palmiet Pinot Noir 2016, Walker Bay South Africa

For Afters

Spiced poached quince, white chocolate & ginger ice cream, brandy snap cigarillo
