PRODUCER: The four bodegas that comprise Alejandro Fernández’s wine legacy, and constitute Grupo Pesquera, share a passion for winemaking that has perfected over time. The strong bond to this great winemaker’s homeland is also reflected in the group emblem: the symbolic Archway and Tower of Pesquera de Duero, the characteristic label on his mythical Tinto Pesquera wines.
WINEMAKING: As for production, after passing a selection table, the grapes are destemmed. They then undeRgo a traditional vinification process. Maceration takes place with the skins still on, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature with lasts for 2 to 3 weeks.
Finally, Pesquera Crianza ages for 14 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by 6 months in the bottle.
TASTING NOTE: Pleasant fresh aromatics with red berry fruit notes, such as raspberries, coming through along with balsamic hints. The whole combines to offer a complex, serious wine. Sweetness and attractive fruit character on the entry to the palate, then balsamic and liquorice notes followed by an elegant finish with touches of brioche coming through.
