Sparkling Wine:
Chateau de Cosse Cremant de Loire. Sparkling wine is always a great celebration choice, and Easter is no exception. I thought we would go for a Cremant from the Loire Valley to start the day off. Crisp citrus, white flowers, and orchard fruits sit on a bed of toasty brioche, which is a delicious way to whet the palette.
Chardonnay:
Corryton Burge Chardonnay South Australia. A versatile white wine that pairs well with various Easter dishes, including roasted chicken, ham, or seafood. I have chosen an easygoing, lightly oaked Chardonnay from South Australia. This Chardonnay is a favourite of ours and will complement the Easter meal very well.
Pinot Noir:
Schroeder Saurus Patagonia Select Pinot Noir. A classic red wine choice for Easter, thanks to its lighter body and versatility. It pairs well with a wide range of dishes, including roasted lamb, glazed ham, and poultry. However, if you are going to stick Lamb on the table, then I would recommend a Pinot Noir from the deep south of Argentina.. a wine made in the presence of dinosaur fossils and a character with the ability to match the flavours delivered by a roast Lamb! Schroeder Saurus Patagonia Select Pinot Noir
Hurling Claret:
Chateau Laulan Francs Cotes de Bordeaux. This amphora and large-format barrel-aged blend of Cab Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc and Malbec, from the lesser-known Francs, Cotes de Bordeaux appellation, brings great value to your Easter table. This fresh and mid-weight red wine is a good match for Easter dishes like herb-roasted chicken, Lamb or grilled vegetables. Its softer tannins and bright acidity make it an approachable option for springtime sipping.
Something New:
Ovum Wines Big Salt White Blend 2022. I’m adding this wine to the box because I can… a blend of the most aromatic varieties, Riesling / Gewurztraminer and Muscat from Oregon in the US. It’s dry, brilliantly vibrant and morish AF… salty ham, anything spiced, or just on it’s own. Love It! - Ovum Wines Big Salt White Blend 2022
Port:
Dalva Ruby Port. Consider serving Port wine alongside a cheese platter or chocolate desserts for a decadent finish to your Easter meal. Its rich and fortified flavours make it a luxurious option for special occasions.
