PRODUCER: Geoff Merrill Wines has vineyards in two of Australia’s classic viticultural regions: “Pimpala Vineyard” and “Wickham Downs” in McLaren Vale, and “Graymoor” in the Coonawarra. Individual growing conditions at each site provide an exciting opportunity to highlight the very best of what each region has to offer by skilfully blending single varietals such as McLaren Vale Shiraz and Coonawarra Cabernet for a superb result.
WINEMAKING: Matured for 22 months in 15% new French and American oak hogsheads and puncheons.
TASTING NOTES: A wonderfully sophisticated blend of reduced berry fruits and developing characters of leather, cigar box and oak with the palate complex, smooth and full of interest. Excellent texture and mouth feel, dry finish and good acidity make this a fantastic food wine indeed.
