PRODUCER: The Durand family has owned this property for over two centuries. Their will is to lead this exploitation by combining tradition, inheritance of its ancestors and new technologies to elaborate a wine of high quality where the expression of the soil is privileged there. The 3.25 hectare vineyard is located east of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation, in the commune of Néac.
WINEMAKING: with a soil composed of 55% of sands, 30% of silts, 15% of clay (gravelly subsoil). rich in ferric concretion).
Manual harvest with selective sorting. Traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks or coated concrete, thermoregulated, with 2 to 3 weeks of maceration. Ageing, also in vats with adaptive oxygenation for 18 to 20 months in an air conditioned cellar. The Merlot grape grown on clay-sandy soil gives it fleshy, flexibility and strength. Fruity, it is easy to taste young, but ageing will allow a slow evolution of its tannins and its primary aromas precursors of the bouquet, is favourable.
TASTING NOTES: This red wine has got intense dark fruit on the nose and in the mouth with a broad mouth feel that is with volume, while at the same time soft and robust. The tannins are very smooth and well balanced due to ageing in the bottle. Ideal with roasts and fowl.
